Welcome
Welcome to interactivity.org.uk!
This site is dedicated to the practice, theories, and art of all aspect of interactivity in theatre.
We're still setting it up - so do come back again when we've finished decorating. In the meantime, please don't be surprised if you get a bit lost, or come across empty pages!
The Symposium
This January, we're running a symposium dedicated to interactivity in theatre, as part of The Reactivity Season at The Tristan Bates Theatre, with Three's Company. The event is spread across three Saturdays: the 9th, 16th, and 23rd, and starts at 1.30pm.
It's going to be the definitive debate on interactivity in performance, bringing together many many people working in the field: academics, artists and audiences; performers, producers and critics. Detailed announcements to follow. Click the flyer below for details:
This Site
We're Three' s Company, a theatre company who've spent a lot of time on interactivity, and we've set this up for four purposes: for open debate, for news and articles, to share research, and for people to present their own ideas and theories. We also use this site to showcase the system and theories we're developing ourselves, but we'll try and make the subjective parts clearly labelled and separated.
The site is divided into three sections:
- The Discussions: an online meeting space to talk and argue about interactivity and the ideas presented. Feel free to propose further topics for discussion.
- The Blog: a depository for research and interesting links, plus article and ideas. Anybody is welcome to submit to the blog.
- Our Theories: details about our system and theories, and ideas. All of this is open for comments by the community.
We hope you find the site useful and interesting. Get in touch with any ideas or feedback!
